I recently purchased a new knitting book at my local Barnes and Noble. I am totally in love with this book.

They have taken the 20 most popular knitting patterns from the last 5 years of their magazine and they are in this book. There isn't a pattern in this book I don't want to knit for myself. If only I had more time. 

I am currently working on the Phiaro Scarf from the book. I am using acrylic yarn as the intention is to give it away as a gift.

The pattern seems fairly simple its worked in the round  and then you bind off, the stitches are dropped during bind off which makes me a little nervous. I am about two inches into it. 

 

 If this goes well my plan is to make another one for me with a more variegated yarn. 

I give this book 5 stars. I would be great as a gift for the knitter in your life or just as a gift for yourself. 

The new obsession

In September I decided I was going to try and hand make all of the Christmas gifts I give out this year (with the exception of a few gifts for the kids). I racked my brain as to what I could make for everyone that is doable before Christmas. I decided I could make cards. I would make some for each special occasion and put them in a pretty box and tie a pretty bow. Easy right? Well, here it is Thanksgiving and I have become obsessed with card making. I have so many more to make in order to complete my projects. But I am in love with so many cards I find on line. They is wonderful inspiration there, talent. I am very jealous of people with talent.
